Can someone give me some step by step configuration instructions for setting up my wireless configuration on a Win 2000 laptop. I have a Netgear MR814v2 802.11b router/wireless access point that is working well with XP laptops. I have this Win 2000 laptop that was working well at my work. It is configured for the intranet at work, and does not connect to my home wireless network. I don't have any restrictions set up on the Netgear (I know, there should be). I'm thinking I just haven't got the Win 2000 system configured properly.

Since 2K doesn't have native wireless capability, you'll be using the Netgear drivers and configuration manager.

I have a Compaq wireless PC card installed in the laptop. I'm not sure what is required from Netgear?

What Compaq Wireless Card do you have? WL110?

Look in your control panel to see if you have a Wireless Network Icon.

If it is a WL110 and you have the Compaq wireless utility, it only supports 64 bit WEP and you need to configure it for you LAN.

I have the Compaq WL100 card. Configuring it for my LAN is the help I am looking for. Can you give me step by step instructions? I think I am configured for my itranet at work, and need to know what seetings to change to see my standard home network.

WL100 Driver for Win2K

Should be straight forward.

Do a site survey, configure for the SSID and if 64 bit WEP is used, enter the WEP password.
