Hey everyone,

So I moved into a new apartment, and the place has the newest hookups available. Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber-optic, Cable, and a basic phone jack.

I would really like to get internet directly from the ethernet port, and not have to deal with a DSL modem and all that stuff with the phone jack.

I'm kind of lost at who offers internet directly from the ethernet port, or if that is what the port is actually meant for.

Any ideas would really help.

Since we know nothing about what's behind that Ethernet port, it's pretty hard to tell you what is possible. You need to find out what is actually provided.
