wiping the slate clean and starting over....

Ok for several reasons I have decided this is the best course of action to take. I am assuming I need to gather all the windows discs and such that I do want to install. I am also assuming that this will eliminate all that scary stuff I found when ya'll had me run that scan, and that it will get rid of norton and let me replace it with something else, and that I need to do a bit of research and figure out exactly what I need to replace it with, so any help with these things would be greatly appreciated, I can see that there are a great many other people on here with much more serious problems and I am in no rush, so please take your time and if you guys get a chance come back and help me out cause I really have no idea how to go about doing this.
Happy holidays all:wave:

clear the drive with killdisk
http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10188745.html
then install and windows will do the format during the install
you need to have
video drivers
m/b setup disk
sound drivers if you have a sound card
driver and software disks for printers ect.
your isp settings and configuration to re enter them
avgfree a/virus
www.grisoft.com
as soon as you have windows up and running then run your m/b setup disk
if you are using sata drives you may need to load a driver with f6 during the install
if your xp disk does not include sp2,then slipstream it in before you start and then use the slipstreamed disk to do the installation
