Hello,
First, thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
My laptop, an HP I bought at the end of 2006 (zv6000? something like that), is getting a bit clunky. The original power cord wore away, and the second one I bought has stopped working as well. Mainly on account of laziness, I haven't touched my laptop for about four or five months, and I realized that none of the stuff on the hard drive is anything I really want or need (I have an external hard drive where all my music, etc., is located).
After thinking about it a bit, I was thinking about completely wiping the hard drive of the laptop and using a different OS from XP (maybe a user-friendly form of Ubuntu?).
Does this sound like a reasonable thing to do? If so, how do I go about it? Also, I don't have any of the discs that my laptop came with (I'm an idiot, I know), so that option is sort of ruled out.
Again, thank you very much for your help!
