Anyone using XP experience this.

Last Night after an hour of using PC it turned itself off. Then it turns itself back on. I know that's a default choice, in XP, but I can't get it to stop. Sometimes it will get as far as the welcome screen and then restart again!

Once in about 25 restarts I was able to start a virus scan, but I can't keep it on long enough to finish it!

Please tell me someone has seen this and that there is an easy answer I'm over looking!

Sounds like the Klez virus to me. Boot into safe mode if you can and run the attached file. I had to zip it to put it on the board, but unzipped it fits easily on a floppy.

Well it was evidently too big even zipped to go on the board.
PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you directly.

:coffee:

You could also try booting into dos off of a boot-disk and just sitting there for about 30 minutes not doing anything and see if the system still reboots, make sure its a Software problem and not hardware related.

You could also check you power management settings to see if it set to go in to a sleep mode if left alone for too long
