Hello, recently, I have had to reinstall Windows XP back onto my computer, though, in the process of trying to do so, I encountered this problem: When I am 35% into the "Copying installation files" part of the XP setup, it stops at a .cpl file that is supposedly missing or something... It also has an error message that pops up at the beginning of the installation, right after I finish entering the XP Serial number, it says that some files are corrupt and asks me if I want to view a report of the problems...

I have tried installing it different ways, as many as I could think, but have been unsuccessful in doing so. I am forced to think I need to somehow find these files online or something, but am unsure how to go about doing so. am I right, or can someone help me out with this problem?

Thanks.

PS: I had to reinstall windows ME to do this hence why it says my OS is ME right now.

Format the machine with kill disk prior to installation of xp. Free
download do a google search. Xp does a poor job of formatting.
You will have to change bootup devices in bios a couple of times in
order to complete this.
