Hi,
After I install Windows xp Home on my (second) computer it says that the drive that it's installed on is H:\ not C:\ ..... And scrolling is herendous (it doesn't scroll smoothly at all), and when I was installing xp home, it came up with some error saying it couldn't find the file and 'please insert the disk with 'this file'.Cab in it'
and the disk that was inserted. was the disk with the files that it wanted. It came up with this error 23 times for different files.... I'm not sure what's wrong, I've had the disc for 6 years (un opened, until now).... The disc is basically was unopened, until yesterday......
thanks,
Tim

Hello Tim

I think you have bad RAM there

If you have more than one stick of RAM (256MB or more) swap them over or take one out and try again with only stick #1. If it does not help or makes things worse swap the sticks and try again with only stick #2. Running with one stick at a time will identify if you have a bad stick. Try moving the RAM to a different slot as well.

OR
You can put either of these free programs on a floppy and test the RAM. Let them run for hours to do many passes if you can
