Windows XP detacts my brothers cd-rom drive. But a little window pop up, and said there might be a problem with the new hardware. It did the same thing when I put my drive in, whats going on?

Hiya

Go to Control Panel | System. Device manager. Are there any yellow !'s in there, particularly on the CDROM drive?


Whats the exact error message, and what is the name and version of the drive? This will be in Device Manager, if you're not sure.

Also, lets have a look at your IRQ settings.

go to start | Run and type MSINFO32
On the left, choose hardware Rescorces, then IRQ. Copy/paste the list here.

It was microsoft, it does not matter what microsoft OS. There all unstable...........And thats a fact:|
