hello all,

I have contracted this annoying virus on my laptop and cant get anything to fix it. i am unable to get to my internet to work at all and it seems that if i try to open any prograrm at all get the pop up showing a threat.

I read the before you post thread and because I cannot access the internet on the laptop I cannot dl what is needed. So I dl d.d.s to this comp and saved to a thumb drive, when I tried to run on my laptop the window opens but it has been sitting for about 30 mins and nothing has happened.

Prior to stumbling upon this forum I had a friend recommend malwarebytes to me and I used the same process(dl here, thumb drive, install on laptop) but had the same issue with running it. I then started in safe mode and was able to run it but w/o updating, So I restarted in safe mode with networking so I could possibly update and I started getting the pop ups and warnings, even in safe mode.:sigh:

I am willing to try anything and any help is appreciated. I do have the xp boot disk. thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that the results will be as good as some of the posts I have read throughtout these fourms.

I then started in safe mode and was able to run it but w/o updating,

That means you're able to run the needed pre-diagnostics tools in Safe Mode to provide us with the necessary information before we can start helping you with your problem.

Please delete the current copy of the tools (DDS and GMER) you've downloaded and then download the fresh copy from the following links:

GMER
