Hi,

I have recently removed administrator privilages from a users PC and placed them in the users group. Now when there is an update for some programs (stata for example), the user reports that the update fails becuase the account does not have enough permissions. Is there a way to allow updates for programs without putting the user in the admin or power users group?

If you can run the update program from Task Scheduler then you can specify which user to run the task as and set it to run as administrator.
