Windows Security Alert "Balloon"

Hi Guys

My Windows Security is alerting me every time I start the Laptop of the fact that my "Norton Internet Worm Protection" is not active.

I have had Notron Internet Security pre-installed (sadly) on this machine but removed it hortly after I got it to replace it with better security tools. I am now running
  • Ashampoo Free Firewall
  • AVG Free Antivirus
  • AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 (free without active shield)
  • AdAware
  • Spybot S&D
  • SUPERAntiSpyware
  • SpywareBlaster

so pretty much everything covered.

I know you probably have no sollution to get rid of Norton references, but how do I get rid of the Windows Security Warning???

much obliged
Heinz

That's what I've been looking for, but all I got was some uninstall tool costing $20 and I couldn't see that being he right thing...

Ballon Still pops up though...

found the button where it says "Change the Way Windows alerts me about my security settings"... unchecked all the boxes cause i figured that my security stuff is going to be up to date almost constantly anyway so why should i need Windows to tell me whether or not it is happy?!

If you have a comment on that I'm always open to suggestions from those with supperior knowledge, otherwise Thanks for the help man.

cheers

I don't quite get this sentence.
I ran a google search on "uninstall norton" and got this link. The program claims to get rid of Norton stuff but isn't freeware nor Norton's own firmware...

Why I didn't follow the Symantec link on the same google search I don't know either

Anyways
Thanks for the help

I can uncheck said boxes, but Spybot S&D picks it up and if I then fix the "problem" the boxes are checked again...

any other suggestions?
Did you run the removal tool? you may have to do a search for norton or symantec and delete any references to it.
With spybot you can either untick the boxes before you hit fix problem or right click on the entry and choose to ignore it in future
I had Norton 2005 preinstalled and after a removal from Control Panel, only the removal tool linked above got rid of it totally. There were however some registry values undeleted which were picked up later on through other software and thus deleted.
