Hi

I am embarking on a DIY project. I've bought a computer and sbs 2011 dvd to install and config on this machine. I know very little servers but the sales guy told me it was easy to do, can anyone help me so I don't make any fatal mistake?

Any advice will be appreciated. :4-dontkno

Well the nice thing about a new install is that most mistakes are not fatal, since a completely botched install can be rectified by wiping and starting over. To know how to guide it's helpful to understand what you're hoping to achieve. Are you doing this for your own testing? Are you doing this to enhance an existing home or work network? Are you the only user or will other computers connect to it and use services?
Thank you for the response djaburg. I used to work from home, now I have moved into a modest office space, it is hard working from home, lol.

The rerason for the server is: To enhance the work network so we the 4 computers in the office could share files easier and better while enabling us to access the server from home when the need arise.

The configuration for the server is: HP 585458-035 - ML110 G6 TV X3430 QUAD CORE 1 X 250GB. I will change the 250gb hard drive for 2 - 3 500gb hard drives. I also upgraded the memory to 8mb
