Okay, I've got my new rig put together, and the BIOS recognizes that there is a HD there. BUt, when I go to install windows, it says that it cannot detect my HD.

HD: Western Digital Caviatr
Motherboard: ASUS P4S800D-x
OS: Win XP Pro SP2

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

Just a quick check. Do you have the hard drive connected and jumpered correctly. If this drive is alone on a ribbon cable, the WD drive must have all the jumpers removed and placed on the end of the ribbon cable. If there is another drive on that cable, set the jumpers to master with slave and place it on the end of the ribbon cable, but make sure the other drive has the jumpers set to slave.

it's not a SATA HD and you need to install drivers during the windows setup process?
