Windows Media Player 11

My McAffee AV installation was corrupted - there was no uninstall option.

I decided to delete the entire McAffee folder from Program Files and remove any trace of mc* in the registry.

That got rid of McAffee

Problem:
Now my Windows Media Player (WMP) does not work - when you click on it or try running any media with it --> nothing happens.

When I try to uninstall from Add/Remove Programs it claimed to have rolled back to older version. But nothing has changed.

I tried running the WMP installation kit - it says you have the lastest version installed. Still WMP does not work

I believe that the issue lies in the registry, but I can be wrong. Can anyone offer any assistance on how to get WMP working again?

Perhaps you should have uninstalled from the add/remove programs option in the control panel .. I mean in the first instance .. see what can be done if you use a registry cleaner .. MS has Regclean, a bit basic but might help you as a freebie
