Windows Live OneCare backup

2957 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Coolfreak
I have tried Windows Live help, Microsoft Help and Support, and conducted a Google search in a effort to find a method to permanently delete Windows Live OneCare from my external hard drive. My account with Windows Live OneCare expired so I delete the application program but cannot delete the back up.

The back up is huge (multible GBs) so space I could use for other purposes. In addition when I run an anti-spy or anti-virus program it extends the time signficantly.

Can anyone advise me in detail (step by step) on how to delete the Windows Live OneCare back up?

Thanks

1. On the Start menu, click Run.

2. Type explorer.exe, and then press ENTER.

3. In My Computer, double-click the drive letter that corresponds to your external hard disk.

4. Right-click the Windows Live OneCare folder, and then click Properties.

5. On the Security tab, under Groups or user names, click either Administrators or your user name.

6. Next to Full Control, select the Allow check box, and then click Apply.

7. In the Windows Live OneCare folder, select the backup set folder, and then press DELETE.
