Ok, so i installed Windows Live Messenger when i first got my laptop about 2 years ago. It has been and i have had no problems with it until a couple of months ago.

I stopped going on it for a while and then when i tried getting back on it, it just wouldn't load. Its only on about the third time of clicking i get a message coming saying "Windows live messenger has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and will notify you if a solution is available.

I am really desperate and would appreciate any help... thanks.

ok this is what i want you to do in order to run the command prompt as an admin.

1. in the search dialog box in your start menu, type "cmd"
2. when you see the program cmd, right click it and click "Run as Administrator"
3. type the command "sfc /scannow"

keep us posted
