Hi all, I did an inplace upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Now my Windows Live Mail 2012 is not able to send or receive messages. I get error 0x800c013e. I found an article here that says it's due to a corrupt storage folder, but I'm not convinced. I'm saying that because before I upgraded to W10, I made an image of the W7 drive and restored it to an SSD. WLM 2012 is working fine on the image that was restored to the SSD which is still on W7.

Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation on moving from Windows Live Mail 2012 to some other email client? Should I try the mail app that comes with W10? Maybe Thunderbird? The biggest hurdle will be moving email messages and contacts to a new program.

Thanks in advance.

Windows Live Mail has been discontinued by Microsoft several years ago. they are encouraging everyone to go to Outlook.com and login with your Live Mail Username and Password instead

If you want to use an app instead of accessing your mail from your browser, you can import your Live Mail account into the Mail app on Windows 10. Or if you have Microsoft Office, you can use Outlook in the Office suite
