My situation is as follows. I got a computer (computer A) from someone who got a new one (computer B), and they transferred some files from the computer I'm currently using (A) to their new computer (B). They said they did this by 'putting an ethernet cable between them, running the home and small office network setup wizard, and then they found eachother'. This is unfortunately the extent of the details I can get from them.

As for the problem itself, whenever I run anything that uses the windows installer on computer A, when it is 'calculating space requirements', it is trying to scan computer B, and will not continue when it can't find it. I've searched My Network Places and computer B isn't on there, only computer A. I'm really pretty stumped on what to do here. How can I get computer A to stop thinking computer B is still networked to it?

Using windows xp sp2 home.

Also the specific error is: 'Error 1606. Could not access \\ALYSSANETBOOK\SharedDocs\My Pictures\.' (ALYSSANETBOOK is computer B)
