hi im building a comp for my friend and it will get as far as 2% copying files then it will not copy perticular files ive tryed 2 sperare discs and its the same file each time, its a SL9JE t2300 cpu and aopen skt 479 board and 160gb sata HDD. 2gb sodimm ram. the first file to not copy is cinemst2.sys and another is shell2.sys or sumthing. someone please help!!!

The WinXP Setup CD does NOT have SATA drivers. For installation on SATA drives you have to load the drivers first.

When the WinXP Setup starts, on the Statusbar (bottom) there will be an option, Press [F6] to load a third party SCSI or RAID driver. You need to do this and have a floppy with the SATA drivers so you can load them. If you have the driver CD for your system, find where the SATA drivers are located and copy them to floppy. If your system does not have a floppy you can get a USB Floppy drive.

you might have bad memory... i once had a problem like that in which it wouldnt install and it ended up being my memory--- hope it helps

ive herd from 2 ppl now its the momory now im sure it is, it got a little further when i took out a stick. but still messed up.
