Windows hotkeys?

I don't know which keys I pressed, but I was on my laptop typing and after pressing something/ random keys, my keyboard stopped working the way I wanted it to.

The keys seem functional in that when I press the 'd' key while i'm on the internet, it tells me if i want the page to be added to my favorites. Also, when I press several other keys, such as 'f' or 'w' the "find" mini screen comes up or the window i'm working on closes. It seems to me that I've triggered some kind of "hotkey" mode where I can press just the letter without alt/ctrl/**** to get the corresponding hotkey.

My mouse and everything else seems to be working fine. Does anyone know how to fix my problem so that I can go back to typing letters (as of now, I'm using a library computer) instead of the hotkeys?
