Windows Explorer won't open in my Administrator account

Alright, so here's the story.

I using my computer's built-in Administrator account to try and install one of those downloadable Appearance settings mods. For part of it, I had to post something in the System23 folder. It wouldn't let me do this, because the folder was read-only. So I opened the folder properties and changes it to not being read-only. It didn't let me finalize the changes because "program is currently using this folder". So I Xed out of the Explorer Window, and tried again. Same result.

Had I been a wiser man, I would not have tried what I did next. I figured that the only way it would work would be if I closed Windows Explorer. So I went into the task manager, found explorer.exe, clicked end task and. . . . closed windows explorer. :nope:

My normal account works fine, but in the Administrator account there's no browsing windows, no icons, no taskbars, no start menu, no nothing. Just me and the Task Manager. :upset:

I've tried using the Task Manager's Run function to run both "explore" and "explore.exe". Neither worked.

I've tried restarting it several times.

How do I get Windows Explorer to work again in the Administrator Account?:4-dontkno

Read the question again. You'll notice that I ALREADY TRIED THAT and it DIDN'T WORK!
try to run cmd over task menager (sorry for my english i am from croatia)
for me it worked type explorer.exe in cmd
Re-boot the system.
Is that different from re-starting my computer?

Because if they're the same, I've already tried it.

If they're different, I don't know how to do it.
click on file at the top and select new task, type in cmd then hit ok. after in cmd type
explorer or explorer.exe
make sure you include the r at the end of explorer.exe

you seem to have typed explore.exe only!

Use your normal account to get rid of those custom appearance files out of System32 and anywhere else you put them and then reboot and log into the Admin account.

I forgot what they were called. Is there any way to make them stand out, like based on author or something?
Best way to find out would be to go back to the site you got the modifications from and look at what the files are called and where the instructions told you to put them.

If you can't find the site.. look in the history of your web browser.

There's a lot of mods like that on the site, its gonna be hard to find the right mod. . . plus, I delete my history nearly every day. (Old habit from when I was at boarding school, but it saves on memory)
Well that is almost certainly your problem. Good luck finding it. If you can't we will see if we can track down the files.
