windows deleted all of my emails

hello. I recently updated my computer from ME to XP, and for some reason, it deleted all of my email messages in Outlook. My address book is still in tact, but I don't know what to do. I had some important messages that i still need. Can anyone help me get them back?

It's always good to back that stuff up before you do a major OS change. But we are all wiser after the fact.

So you are saying that your address book transferred over, but not your messages?
