Windows CE 6.0 Smartbook 7" Dial up

Im trying to do internet dial up on this 7" Netbook/Smatbook EPC 300mhz 128 ram 2 gb hd. I set up in my computer then hit connect and says dont see carrier. I plug into 10/100 spot and have tried an Hp Usb external 56k modem which the CE dont see.DOES ANYBODY DO 10.100+ wireless and DIAL UP on these little things?

Dial up means using the telephone line. When it says it doesn't see the carrier, it means it can't hear the dial tone before it starts calling. You won't plug into the 10/100. You need to plug into the telephone/modem port, but I don't think this one has that, you would have to use the USB 56k modem. But before you use the modem, you need to install software to use it, did you do so?
