Hi everyone, im guessing this is the correct forum to post this question.

Please feel free to re direct me if it should go elsewhere.

My problem is regarding the automatic windows update option.

My computer will display the gold shield with the exclamation mark next to my computers clock informing me that "MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)" is ready to install. I then install it but as soon as it has completed installing the shield appears again telling me the same update is ready to be installed. This happens everytime. In "My Computer", the first screen I see when I access my hard drive contains countless folders with very long names which are where it is installing these updates.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks a lot

Steve

Hey thanks for your help, It seems to have done the trick!

The Gold shield is no longer appearing anyway!

I take it the multiple folders in my computer are safe to delete?

Thanks again

I'm assuming that you asked for all the folders in "My Computer" ?

It'll be best to provide a screenshot like attached above so we can see what is wherever your wanting to delete.
