Hi all, if i buy a new computer with Windows 8 (Home) preinstalled on it, and i want to CLEAN INSTALL Windows 8 Pro on it, (not upgrade because clean install removes all bloatware installed by manufacturer so its better that way :p) with a Multiple Activation Key (MAK) i have through school, how would i go about it? I have the ISO downloaded and burned to disk, the only thing is since with windows 8 the windows 8 home product key is "burned in" to the motherboard of the pc, wouldnt the windows 8 pro install automatically go to a windows 8 home install due to the conflict created by the windows 8 home product key which is "burned in" and the windows 8 pro MAK that i have typed in? If anyone has actual experience with installing W8 PRO over W8 that would be appreciated.

Also, i heard that people have trouble formatting their drives on windows 8 because of some controlling thing? Or is this just a rumour? Surely M$ wouldnt want to stop me from formatting my HDD to install the more expensive version of their OS would they?

Thanks for the help as always!

It should not be a issue, as long as you have the correct key for the pro install.

The formatting issue usually has to do with not having the correct Sata/Raid driver.
Go to the computer manufacturers web site D/L the Sata/Raid driver and put it on the USB drive if you have a issue with the drive use the F6 prompt to install additional drivers and select the driver you put on the usb drive.

If you're buying pre-built, why not bare bones if you're going to install Retail Version of 8 pro? The major mfgs. sell them that way and the Dell auction always has some.
