I'm not highly tech savvy but I will find out how to do anything needed.

Of the 20 odd times my pc has turned off - only the first time did I have BSOD. It might be unrelated as it was some weeks before this problem.

My computer turns off during any game I play. (And then when I try to turn it on sometimes is turns off) but it doesn't only turn off during games. The computer becomes warm, but not hot (a few months ago it got very hot, but I now use an underneath cooling fan).

After it switches off, sometimes it runs 'Pre-boot System Assessment 4124'.
The computer will always turn off when testing 'Memory - WCMch test'.

Does this mean there is something wrong my memory?

FYI its a laptop.

Update: Can't complete Memtest86
---computer turns off as it is running, last time I got to first pass of 21% and it turned off

Going to try to do BSOD posting.

· OS - Windows 7 (6.1)
· x64
· Windows 7 initially installed
· It came preinstalled
· 1.7 years old (laptop)

· CPU - Dell Inc. - Studio 1558
· Video Card - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
· MotherBoard - 0874P6
· Power Supply - It came with the machine, I don't know anything else. Dell Studio?

· System Manufacturer - Dell
· Exact model number - is this necessary?

You forgot the upload the zip and yes, the model number is important, because it is needed if I need to look up exact system specs.

This is sent from my bb, if I start my pc in safe mode, it no longer stays on long enough for me to even see the desktop, so I don't know if I can send you anything from it. The model number is PP39L.

Using the knowledge that it will turn off within like 1 min of turning on in safemode without me even loading the desktop (typing in password) does this tell you what kind of problem could be causing this?
It CAN'T be overheating surely, I had a new fan put in a few days ago which did nothing.

IT SEEMS that every time it turns off, it will stay on for less and less time before switching off again :(
