I tried connecting two different laptops with Windows 7 Home Basic with my broadband wifi network with wep security, but it doesn't work. It connects with wpa / wpa2 / open security. What is the reason?

Is your router set for WEP? WPA is mote secure anyways I recommend using that. Are you trying to connect to your router or someone elses?

The broadband wireless modem + router was set to WEP. The laptop doesn't connect to it with the correct security key on WEP mode. The laptop connects to it when it is on open security or wpa security mode.
