Plain and simple...

How do I know if my computer is 64 bit compatible, is it something in the motherboard? or is it just the specs you have?...I want to upgrade...get 8 gigs of ram (which i know i need a 64bit os) and I am playing lord of the rings online which they ''turbine'' suggest to get the windows 7 64bit version instead of the 32bit one.

Here are my specs
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4800+ 2.50ghz
2 gigs of ram
1TB hard drive
Vista Home Premium
32 bit operating system
Model:hp a6030n

Thanks!

Hi just as a further check look up your makers site and see what they say about win7 and your model computer you can also look up what they offer in the way of drivers
