After you reboot from the freeze does anything show up in the event logs about it?

How much memory do you have in your system?

As a rule Win2000 is pretty stable, a complete freeze up without a data dump is pretty uncommon. Let me know what you find in the event logs.

Goto Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Log

It will be divided into 3 categories: System, Security, and Application

Try looking in both System and Application for the Red X's that have a time that is near the crash and see if it sheds any light on the problem.
