WINDOWS 2000 COMMANDS

I have recently obained a computer with Windows 2000 installed
In the past I have used Windows 98 SE

I have discovered that the following commands, that I could use with Win 98 SE, do not function with Win 2000

FDISK, and FDISK /STATUS etc. with the information about FDISK etc.

Unlike the Win 98 SE CD, I cannot find a file "Readme" on the CD for Win 2000, that tells me how to Format the Hard Drive, and remove or add a partition.

Questions:
1. Is it on the CD?
2. Do I have to go to Microsoft Web site and search for information?
3. Can someone tell me the commands that I need to know?

1. Use the DISKPART program from a command prompt or the Recovery Console.
2. Use the Disk Management program by right-clicking My Computer, click Manage. (easiest method)

Win 2000 will give you those options during the install process, so you can partition and format then.

Once win2000 is installed you can use Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Disk Management services to partition and format, (same service as mentioned by Resolution, just a different path), another path is: Start > Run >and type: diskmgmt.msc
