So far, no word back from ACER/UK - so did more research this morning on ACER for drivers - no change -went to Windows website was thinking of trying to reinstall Win10 -thinking better than what it was now after removing Win11.
Got Sue's laptop, was ready for a new Win10 update - did that. Then remembered the CTRL + F7 (which I have tried numerous times and nothing worked) Well this time it worked. Perhaps the new updated fixed the basic problem.
Anyway, she now has the cursor back. * So simple so perhaps the Win10 update fixed the problem & CTRL + F7 finished the 'fixin"
Thank you to all of you who did what you could to help.
