Hi All,

This morning I had an issue with Start and Action Center not working. After some searching I ran a Powershell command which fixed the immediate problem, but now I find that I have an additional issue. There are a number of Apps which will not open (see attached jpg.)

I am also getting notifications in Event Viewer (Events 1000 and 5973 mainly).

I have run sfc /scannow several times to no avail, and restarted several times as well.

Suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

Rob.

Hi Spunk.funk,

Read and tried all those suggestions, but unfortunately without success. Some permissions were not as the item suggests, but changing them did not help.

This system doesn't have a Group Policy Editor.

Tried uninstalling a recent update (3124200) but this had no effect so I reinstalled it.
I notice that each time I restart now I am getting a swag of 10010 errors.

In the Task Scheduler, once you expand Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows, scroll down and click on SkyDrive, you find two scheduled jobs, "Idle Sync Maintenance Task" and "Routine Maintenance Task". I found that disabling both of these jobs has caused the error message to cease.

From recent searches (looking for a solution) it seems to me that many others are having the same or very similar issues. So much so that to me it seems that Microsoft must have broken something.

My system was much better before Cortana was enabled in Australia.

Earliest restore point was 18th December, which is strange in itself as I've been on Windows 10 since August.
System restore was successful, thanks for your help.

Still working as it should, but I still get a lot of this kind of message in Event Viewer. It appears to relate to Apps, but I can't find a solution. These events and many others have been a hallmark of Windows 10 from day 1.
