My Window Xp system suddenly boots to blank black screen with blinking cursor on left side. BIOS is working. F8 is not working so can not log in sofe mode. I tried to boot from XP cd, during booting from XP cd after inspecting hardware configuration it againg goes to blank black screen.

Hard disk is 250 GB SATA seagate. I booted my system from my backup 80gb hard disk. It shows all the drives on my 250GB harddisk. This means hard disk is working.

I repaired MBR and boot record of the hard disk and tried booting but no result.

Hi, ritshakt, Welcome to TSF!

1. Put your XP disc into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Choose to repair your system files.

Also, if you're BIOS is working how come you can't boot into safe mode 0_o

Obviouly, Undocked Windy Ive been noticing this in several places around the forum,
customers complaining of pc not booting just blank screen. Im wondering if a virus or something along those lines?

I'm not sure, it might be. Have them refer to this guide, it may help since it's the best malware guide I know of.
