hi guys
i am trying to install win7 from USB drive in my dell optiplex gx280 desktop system. its hardware specs are 2.8ghz processor with 1mb cache, and 1gb ram along with 256mb nvidia card.
it installs fine but then i get extreme hardware acceleration, processor fan runs with so much speed and makes enough sound, why this happens? is my system not eligible for win7?
please guide me...

As I see from your system specs your system is only capable of 1GB RAM max. Windows 7 requires 1gb minimum (recommend 2gb or more Windows 7 32bit can only access no more than 3GB of RAM or less) depending on the version of Win7. (Which means it will run ok but may be slow).Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows install and run this will tell you if your machine meets win7 specs and requirements.

Your system specs.

Also try cleaning inside your tower with a can of compressed air. Speeding up of CPU fans indicates over heating or high taxing of the CPU.

thanks a lot moderator,for answering.
does it mean, that win7 won't run smooth on my system, because it makes the processor fan to run very fast most of times.and also becomes a little sluggish in operating compared to my dell laptop (2.18ghz dual core,4gb ram)...
(my c drive is 15gb)

I agree. 15Gb of HDD is quiet small for Windows 7. Recommended space for Win7 is 40Gb or more. Win7 could run on 1GB of RAM but would run real sluggish if you run more than one app at a time e.g IE, and something else.

Have you cleaned inside your tower with a can of compressed air? I am not saying Windows 7 is causing your CPU temp to go higher I am just saying that since you have Win7 installed it could be using more CPU than XP did. I would recommend cleaning all fans, and heatsync inside your tower.
