Win2003 server & XP pro problems please help

Hi,

I'd be grateful if someone could please give us some advise. One of my customers restored a sql 2000 db onto a win2003 server. The backup was taken from a win2000 server. Basically they have 3 to 4 XP pro clients which run applications that intially connect to the Sql Databse, by pointing the application to the server and db through Data link proprties. There were no problems when the clients were connecting via win2000. But after restoring the database to win2003, when trying to connect the clients to the instance of sql e.g. INFINEER\SERVER, user name sa, etc. i get msg saying instance does not exist or access denied. I went into cliconfg and setup named pipe alias for the server, but still no joy. :sayno:
The same application installed on the win2003 server, connects to the database without problems. None of the clients seem to be able to find the sql database. I can ping the server from the xp clients.

Regards.
