No matter what I enter in the Search box, zero results are reported. I've checked Services and Search is enabled.

Windows Live search sucks. I uninstall it and disable the Windows Update of it. If you uninstall Windows Live Search it will bring you back to the Windows Search which came with Windows and works a lot better.
