Hello all,
I am having a problem installing windows xp onto a re-formatted hard drive. It will not load past the first part of the windows setup. It is giving me nothing but errors until it finally says it cant be loaded.; I have tried both win xp and win 2000 with the same effect on both. If anybody has any ideas I sure would appreciate them. Thanks..........

1 question: are ur softwares legit!?!? or is it burnt from somewhere else?
Welcome to the board, albeit a late welcome :D

What type of computer(mobo, ram, cpu)?, Hard Drive type and size? and last any errors that lead to the first format?
Hard drive may be defective, or have too many bad sectors.

What brand is the hard drive?

Usually writing zeros to the drive will cure all of it's issues.

Don't fdisk and format afterwards just boot to the CD-Rom.
And one thing I noticed when reinstalling XP last week is that sometimes it does not like it if you format outside the setup program before you run it.

In other words, let Windows XP Setup do it's own format of your hard drive, that might help. We couldn't get it to install until we let it do that last week.

That would be the reason for the wipe! No residual crap left on the drive.........:D
