Hello all,
I am having trouble connecting to a new computer that I installed win xp in.... It connected for a brief minute and then I havent been able to get it back since. It shows it is connected through my linksys router although I cannot get the internet to come on..Everything looks alright as far as the ethernet card goes but it just wont connect. As I hit the Internet explorer shortcut it is just detecting proxy settings and then does the page cannot be displayed screen. Can someone point me in the right direction to disable the proxy settings in win xp pro. I have done it before but to tell you the truth I just forgot where it is.If anyone has any ideas please send them my way...........Thanks

What kind of connection are you using there de7x?

If you are using a new machine with a new ethernet card you may need to contact your ISP and give them the new NIC adapter address............

To find this go to run and type command then enter.

Then type ipconfig.exe /all then enter

The adapter address will be listed under physical address.

This will be the number to give them if it is required......:D
