So I've had this issue for a few years and for the life of me cant figure it out, me and another admin buddy of mine are stumped. So I have several machines here at home (4) and when I use either Vista x64 or Win7 x64 I get the same result every time regardless of the machine. So whenever I install a game and it can practically be any game however it seems the larger the game is in size is what generally causes the issue, but what happens is towards the middle of the install RAM gets maxed out using 3.9 Gigs leaving only about 100mb avail during the install. So after the install completes the RAM stays maxed out and the crazy thing is looking through the processes we find no application using a large amount of mem and everything looks normal. However physical mem stays around 98% and the only fix is a restart. Like I said I tried this on all the machines I have all various hardware, processors, all have different Ram modules, cards etc.. and it only happens on instance of x64 and not on any x86 images of the same OS. So has anyone seen this issue before or have any recommendations? The only thing I could think of is it being a plausible glitch within the x64 images but if that was the case then I wouldn't be posting and would of seen others on Google with similar stories.

Please run resmon, switch to the memory tab (make sure physical memory graph details are visible, which they should be by default), and then download and run Process Explorer. Once both resmon and Process Explorer are running, do whatever is necessary to cause the issue. After you've caused the memory issue to occur on your system but before restarting, run the snipping tool and take/save a screenshot of the resmon window showing the memory tab. Also, in Process Explorer, use File > Save As... to save a .txt file of the data in Process Explorer. Reboot (of course, so you can use your machine again), and then post both the screenshot of resmon and the .txt file of Process Explorer here for us to review.

I don't see a leak at all, but I do see a decent amount used by Firefox and ESET. Can you post a screenshot of this portion of the memory tab in resmon?
