My ASUSTeK x64-based personal desktop PC (System Model K30BF_M32BF) crashes anywhere from 2 to 6 or 7 times a day, and it's driving me crazy. It was new just about a year ago, and it came with Windows 8.1 pre-installed. Win 8.1 started crashing frequently, so I upgraded the OS to Windows 10 (10.0.10586 Build 10586 currently running) thinking that it would solve my problem. But now, after running Win 10 since December 2015, it's gotten worse.

The computer came with an AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3700 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s).

It is mainly used for personal document management (Office 2013), eMail (Thun, finance (Quicken), and internet access (mainly Mozilla Firefox - occasionally Internet Explorer).

Please help me resolve this issue before I put my foot through the monitor! :banghead:

There are no BSOD dump files present. Is your system crashing with a Blue Screen of Death?
If not and is powering off randomly it could be due to your System overheating or your Power Supply Unit failing.
In my sig there a link to a program called Speccy, it allows you to monitor temperatures.

The maximum temperature your CPU is capable of is 72c. If its going over that temperature for a decent amount of time your CPU will shutoff due to thermal overload. There is no warning your PC will just turn off.

Thank you for the heads-up. I DL'd Speccy, and it definitely shows that my CPU is overheating. I've actually observed it going up as high as 107C.

Also thanks for setting me straight on the BSOD. I don't get that, rather as you noted, a sudden restart or a freezup of my system.

I've looked into my case and noted that there is no rear exhaust fan. however the CPU does and is seems to be plugging away. Should I install a rear fan just below the power supply? Do you think the fan (or lack thereof) is the culprit? Is there a relatively easy way to reduce the clock speed of the processor? Might that help?

Again, thanks for your response.

Cheers,
