Welcome to TSF:

S1 = slot one processor package

and yes that cpui will fit your asus p3v4x board / I had one of those not to long ago / was one hellva stable board with that exact same processor.

that board same both ways / slot 1 and socket 370 make sure which mobo you have before you buy ?????

so this should work right?

also do you know where i could get a decent case w/ a good psu combo
for around 50 bucks for this?

something kinda compact? with some security features

thanks
Yep / thats a slot one mobo alright !! yes you have a compatible match !

go for it ~~ on the case thing / I am not a case combo man ~~ you usually wind up with a super junk psu when you buy a case combo

check on ebay for cases ~~ maybe even used cases hard to go wrong there

i would also suggest a used enermax psu of about 300 watts or 350

that should keep you in the $50.00 dollar range or close to it with dependable componets

ask more questions if needed

well i have ordered the mobo

but i am still scouring for a case ,
the market is so over saturated with modded cases and so on

i just want a normal mid tower with one of those plastic hoops that a pad lock will loop on..
uh oh i think i might have made a mistake , the has yet to arrive
but will this ram work on the board?

Kingston KV R800X18-16/256 487455 CE (or) Crucial CT16M64S4D10.16T66 (with dummy card)

i think its rambus

will this work on this board or did i just shoot myself in the foot?
Your board uses regular old PC100/133 SDRAM which you can still buy new. RDRAM is the most vile thing ever created, right up there with the 486SX.

Sell the RAMBUS if you can and make some good money.
pheeewww , i have some regular ram
thank god i was thinking i made a big mistake!

you know its funny you said that cause i have a buddy
thats looking for rambus, just called him and i think its sold

oh i found a case

ehat do you think?

the psu should be able to handle a p3 board right?
nothing really special abou any of the components there just
stuff from an older hp and dell

wel here is one however it does not come with the
pad lock loop,

but i guess i could order one of those screw pad lock
adapters

it seems like it has received good reviews
its a little cheaper than one above

which one do you think is the better one?

oh a most importantly will that board fit in this?

thanks again!

This ine should work, but you will need to remove the fan ducting on the side cover if you are going to use the slot 1 CPU.
