The PSU I am looking at getting is a

CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Retail

I like the fact that it's not going to take food off of my table, it is a corsiar, and it has Core i7 support should I ever decide to upgrade to the i7.

I have been told I need atleast 500w to power my system though.

What do you mean by PCIE? I'm not familiar with that.. Sorry

I thought that maybe you meant price?

pcie=pci express

it is the video slot on your m/board and the type of video card you use in it

you need to go to the 550w to get enough available amp output on the 12v+ line to run it without problems

I agree with dai that you need to upgrade anyway in order to get the PCIe connectors, but were you aware that the case comes with a 500W PSU?

But the one in the case will not even make a good door stop.
FYI the i7 is a different socket so an upgrade will require a different motherboard.
