Yes you should not have any problems

OK I done it and it's not working, it also doesn't support the full resolution of the laptop.

I don't have any driver CD.
You will need to go to the manufacturer's website and get the proper drivers if they are available. Downgrading a Vista/Win7 laptop is only recommended if you know that the drivers are available first. Many don't have them available. Upgrading to Win 7 would have been a better bet.
Hi OGTiago,

Can you post the specs on your wireless card? (Manufacturer and style). XP drivers are hard to find but not impossible. If you want to know the specs of your system, you can download a program called Speccy (free) and that way you can eliminate the guesswork. You can download the program HERE!

Good day!

I downgraded the laptop mostly because of performance issues, with XP's limited RAM requirements I thought it would be best (only 1GB RAM, crappy integrated graphics, crappy processor).

^ You're right, on the DELL website it had all the drivers, luckily I found them all here after searching Google:
Download Dell Inspiron 1520/1521 Windows XP Drivers

Only the wireless driver didn't work and I had to get it from DELL website myself. Thanks though, that program seems good. I found a similar one earlier but it wasn't free.

All is well now.
