HP has had a number of failures of the wireless hardware in the 6000 series, and they have an extended warranty covering the failures. I'd check at the HP site and see if your machine is in the serial number range.
WiFi Suddenly doesn't connect
Hello, my friend is having trouble with her laptop. Seems that for some reason her WiFi just stopped connecting to her router.
When I check out the connection it says "Limited Connection" or "Local Only"
She has a HP Pavilion DV6000 running Vista Home Premium.
