I've had my AOL broadband for almost 6 months now and its been fine. two days ago it started acting wierd. it keeps connecting to the net and disconnecting wheneva it wants. my wireless network says its still connected but i cant go onto the net or download anything. I've tried changing ip addresses, using static ip addresses...I've even reseted the entire router and installed the AOL software all over again. it works for like an hour then disconnects, then after about another hour it connects again.
I dont know if this is AOL's problems or my router or some setting but if anyone has any ides whats going on I'd appreciate the info.

thanks.

Have you tried connecting your pc,laptop straight into the broadband connection, without the router ?
sorry bout the late reply, I couldnt get onto the net for the last two weeks.

I dont understand. I have a Netgear DG834G wireless router. The problem is that it keeps disconnecting the internet connection randomly. When I cotacted Netgear they said it could be the router so they sent me new one but just after one day and night after installing it the same problem occurs. Is there anyone with any ideas on what I should be looking for?

By the way when it disconnects it disconnects via wireless and wired ethernet connection.
if you can not get online with ANY pc on your network - i suspect you have bad noise (SNR) on your line. check ALL your dsl filter(s) AND contact your isp and tell them to run a line test... they should have you back in binary business in 15 minutes..

Agreed, I had the same problem, in the end I phoned BT to check my phone line and it was static on the line and they fixed it for free.
