I was installing windows xp and it froze half way through because the disc was scratched up. Any way I took out the disc and turned off the computer, and then I booted in to Gparted live boot CD and added the used space to my main windows 7 partition. Anyway it had an error half way through and I was like what ever it's happend before. The graphics appeared as if it had done its job. But when I turned it off again (having only one partition) and it said something like it couldnt start windows because it couldn't locate the path or something! I would love to avoid a reformat! Thanks in advance. P.s sorry for typos cause I wrote this on my iPhone.

Can you explain what you mean in the Quote? What used space are talking about? Did you create a separate partition for XP? If you wanted to expand your Windows 7 partition into the failed XP partition, did you delete the XP partition first, making it Unallocated Space? Before expanding the Windows 7 Partition into the Unallocated Space?
If Windows 7 is not booting, just put the Windows 7 DVD in and do a Start Up Repair.
