sup. in my bios it says my cpu temp is about 49c idle. in windows, under speedfan or the gigabyte manangment tools its says my cpu tem is 40c idle. which one would be the more accurate one? cheers.

Not sure I would believe either. :wink:

Most of these software monitors can be 10% out either way. Both temps are OK. It also depends on your CPU, fans etc. If the PC is suddenly shutting down then that would be a cause for concern. My P4 is a Prescott core and it runs pretty hot. If I believed the temp monitors (and I've tried various) I'd probably never switch the PC on. :laugh:

Make sure your fans are clean and dust free and there is plenty of ventilation in and around your case - you should be OK.
