Hi, First of all, I know these both suck, But i just want to know which would be BETTER.
I had a computer a while ago that had a Intel 946GZ onboard chip [not sure of any other details of it] and it used 128mbs, I now have what i know to be Intel GMA 3000 and it uses 256mb. On the computer that had the Intel 946GZ i was able to run some games pretty decently and what i am wondering is Would the Intel GMA 3000 be able to play it better, the same or worse? Note the specs on the intel gma 3000 pc are a little bit better than the Intel 946GZ So it's really just down to the chip. To go further into example On the Intel 946GZ I could play Dynasty Warriors Online with next to no problem on low settings. [ And low settings do not bother me at all, Infact i prefer to play it in low to decrease any possible lag] Do you think i would be able to play it with Intel GMA 3000 to the same degree? Sorry if my question is confusing and thank you to anyone who tries to answer.

well just depends how much onboard memory is on your pc the more memory you have the faster the games will work, buying a graphics cards would make it better as it could process the graphic in the games and free up memory for your system.

Thanks for the help, But the main thing i am wondering is the intel 946GZ superior to the intel gma 3000? because the gma does have twice the amount of memory that the 946 used.

The GMA graphics is in the CPU and "should" render a better graphics experience to the older Mobo graphics chips.
