I got modem ip addresses, router ip addresses, private LAN ip addresses and ISP public ip addresses.

I'm confused which ip I shall ping and when I shall ping for troubleshooting when there is a problem in network or internet connection.

There is always issue regarding internet connection in our company and our network admins keep on pinging so many ip address to diagonose it. I can't understand for what and why they are pining on that occasion.

That seems to be a critical issue that you guys need to sort out. That can be a hardware, improper confuguration or ISP.

There are a lot more things that your IT Dept need to research other than just pinging an IP. Are you part of your IT Dept? If they can't fix the issue hire an IT Prof Consultant.
