Reason I am here:

I do software, not hardware. Not afraid to admit the different flavours of chips (cpu etc) is bewildering.

Celeron, Pentium, AMD,
X2, Dual Core, Core Duo

mix and max at will!!!

So the first question is:
Is there such a thing as (you guessed it) ONE EXCEL Spreadsheet
that explains and shows costs and processor power and speed?

If not, design one and its worth its weight in GOLD !

Yes, there is a wealth of information on that range of subjects, easily located with a Google search... much of it old, now... but plenty still available.
